PMKVY is the flagship scheme of the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE), implemented by the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC). The objective of this Skill Certification scheme is to enable Indian youth to take up industry relevant skill training that will help them secure a better livelihood. Individuals with prior experience are also assessed and certified under Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL).
Delivered through a robust ecosystem of training providers, sector skill councils and assessment agencies.
Skill training imparted at PMKVY Training Centres for school/college dropouts and unemployed youth, including soft skills, entrepreneurship, financial and digital literacy.
Individuals with prior learning experience or skills are assessed and certified, with bridge courses addressing knowledge gaps along with safety and hygiene practices.
A platform facilitating trainings in special areas and premises of Government bodies, corporate or industry bodies, and in special job roles not defined under available QPs.
